My one visit to Ale House Rock wasn't particularly enjoyable...the waitress didn't have a clue about which beer was which, the music was WAY too loud, and the service was generally slow, inept, and inattentive. Maybe you'll have better luck, especially since new owners have taken over.
Directions: Pacific Coast Highway to Beach, turn east. Right on Adams. Ale House Rock is on the right, just past the Mobil station.

Red, OK carbonation and head. Clean aroma, hint of sweetness. Sweetish, hint of caramel, especially in finish. Not as boring as O.C. Honey Wheat (17-1305).

Dark brown red, good head. Some black malt aroma. Thick enough...flavors are all there, but very subdued. Not nearly a big enough beer.

Golden-amber, OK head and carbonation. Pretty clean aroma. Wheaty, but very very clean, with almost no finish at all. Definitely no honey character.
