Early in 1995, Gordon Biersch built a distribution facility in Emeryville CA. They had some early problems with oxidation at the Emeryville facility - which explains the low scores during February and March - but Tom Davis got things under control. The beer is brewed in the San Francisco CA brewery and shipped by truck to Emeryville for fermentation and kegging. (See the August/September 1995 Celebrator Beer News for the story.) Once the equipment arrives from Germany and is installed, the beer will be brewed here in Emeryville. Now that the microbrewery in San Jose is operational, they may have closed this Emeryville facility. If you have any news, please let me know!
