Formerly known as Browerij De Kluis, Hoegaarden is owned by InBev (formerly known as Interbrew). Pierre Celis founded the modern Hoegaarden brewery in 1966, then moved to Austin TX around 1990, where he founded the excellent but ill-fated Celis Brewery.

Production of the Hoegaarden beers was moved to InBev's brewery in Jupille in 2006, and back here again in 2008.

      Light body, fizzy. Nicely malty with a good wheat flavor. Mildly yeasty. Mildly spicy and citrusy. Clean and refreshing.

      Pale, translucent, with a big foamy head. Sweet aroma, gently citrusy, spicy, and perfumey. Light body, very fizzy. Nice mild wheat maltiness underlies the subtle-yet-tasty spiciness and a touch of citrus. Finishes quick and clean.
